About THE
TIN SHED SCHOOL
Started by Kanchan Bhardwaj as a school for the impoverished children of Ghaziabad, our school has grown into a learning community of over 180 local kids. The school is actually a tin shed under a flyover. The students coming here are charged a minimal fees of rupees 50 which is often waived off as sometimes the parents can't afford even this much. The school provides uniforms , books and stationery to all the kids. They are given simple but nourishing mid day meal. We also hold stitching classes in the early mornings for the older students . We are trying our best to help the students get opportunities to thrive and succeed, but it is a constant challenge. However, with your help in the form of donations and/or volunteering, we can overcome these obstacles and change lives, one child at a time.

I am Vandana and I have been a student of this school for the past eight years . Right now I am in the 7th grade . We are 5 brothers and sisters at home . My father works as a daily laborer . My elder sister studied from the same school and my younger brother is also studying here . I really want to work very hard and join the police force in future . I want to help the society the same way this school has helped us in our education. Being a police officer is my dream.
I am Tanu and I am in grade 7 . I love being in this school and all my friends are here . I have a younger brother who studies here only. Both my parents work as helpers in a factory nearby . I want to become a doctor in a government hospital so that I can treat poor people . When I grow up I want to help my parents financially so that they don’t have to work this hard .
